Hound Group

Hounds are the original hunting dogs that were developed to track and pursue game. They’re divided into two main types: sight hounds and scent hounds. Sight hounds rely on their incredible vision and speed to spot and chase down prey. Scent hounds, on the other hand, use their extraordinary sense of smell to track scents over great distances.

Despite their hunting origins, most hounds today are primarily family companions. They’re typically friendly and sociable, often getting along well with children and other animals. That said, their hunting instincts can still kick in, especially when they catch an interesting scent or spot a small animal bolting across the yard.
